-| Dare to Dream |-

I always believe that having a DREAM is the key to the path of success. Simply because of the saying:

"watch your thoughts, for they become words.
watch your words, for they become actions.
watch your actions, for they become habits.
watch your habits, for they become character.
watch your character, for it becomes your destiny."

MoofMoof and I both have a DREAM. We want to be financially independent and retire by the age of 35. Yes, it sounds difficult but it is not impossible. WHY do we place ourselves with such a difficult challenge? The answer to that is very simple: TIME is GOLD. We don't want to have to spend the rest of our life working our ass off for someone else and missing out on life. Life is not about the expensive and luxury things that the world has to offer but simple things like watching our children grow, sitting down for dinners with friends and family laughing over silly things and being able to take in what the world has to offer and see how beautiful it actually is.

These simple things in life are very dear to us, thus we will do whatever it takes to make our DREAM come true. We are truly grateful to have wonderful friends and family who stand by us and cheer us on while we embark on our journey to reach our DREAM. Thank you people, we love you!

Lately my fren Redbabe has been writing a few post about these mysterious creatures; her mysterious creature to be exact. Her latest post is so funny, it has prompt me to write about them creatures too.

These men creatures have invaded many of our lives, mainly women's lives but somehow I'm glad they did. His their bizzare way of doing things certainly does infuriate me all the time from time to time but often times amusing.

My husband tends to forget I'm his wife and started treating me like his buddy, whispering into my ears sharing the storyline of his PSP game. Telling me how intense the game is, who are the main characters, what they do, how sad the story is and yada, yada, yada. All, while I'm writing or watching a movie. It drives me nuts! I am crazily, "burning midnight oil" addicted to like playing games sometimes but that does not make it all the time. However, whenever I look over and am about to smack him on his head, he throws me this cute boyish grin of his with a tint of sparkle in his eyes. That totally blew me away. Instead I'd give him a peck on the cheek. Well at least he cares enough to share :D

I know alot of these mysterious creatures out there makes your (women's) blood boil but I gotta say I'm really lucky to have one adaptable, mysterious creature invaded my life. I can't say enough how much I appreciate him doing the laundry all the time sometimes, helping me with the dishes and he even learn to put down the toilet seat cover everytime before he flushes. He's not perfect but his imperfections is what makes him perfect for me. His beautiful imperfections is what fills my life and make my life whole. I thank him for loving me and giving me the chance to love him back. Like what Redbabe says, I shall no longer try to unravel the bizarre mystery. Instead I shall marvel at the beauty that it brings with.

So I own have a mysterious creature in my life, do you? Share the stories with us :D.

11th of Oct 2008 -We are finally pronounced as husband and wife in a beautiful court room on a bright and sunny day :D

It was a joyful day joined by my mother-in-law, father-in-law and 2 little brothers. Though my own family couldn't be with me, I know I have their blessings and love with me.

The Judge who performed our marriage registration ceremony is wonderful. She shared with us some very beautiful poems. It was so touching, it brought tears to my eyes. Our little ceremony was accompanied with bubbles and yummy Hershey's Kisses, all thanks to the Judge.

It was a beautiful day and I have my husband to thank for making it all happen and for bringing me such wonderful joys.

-| I Hear the Bells |-

The wedding bells were ringing loud and clear (not mine yet) for Jo and Dave.

I've been to a number of weddings and seen a number of wedding pictures but I've not seen anything like Jo's. They have the sweetest and most adorable wackiest wedding ceremony I've ever seen. Here's why :

-| Be Blessed |-

There are enough goodness to go around for everyone in life. Though most of the time we are too caught up in the buzz of life. Piles and piles of work and trains after trains of traffic engulfed all the goodness in us and around us. Day in and day out we complain, we whine of how pathetic our life is and how life is so unfair, how unfortunate we are and how lonely we are. Getting too preoccupied with our own emotional mumbo jumbo we forget about so many millions out there who are so much more unfortunate. Drowned by modernity and propagation of urban beliefs we lost our way. Gratitude and being blessed becomes an ancient feeling. I don't blame you for not seeing it. We all need to be reminded once in a while of the good things that are around us and of the good things we have in us. Whenever you feel less fortunate, picture the victims of Cyclone in Myanmar, Earthquake in Si Chuan and war infested countries. So many homeless and starving, striving hard to make by and yet feeling thankful each day for they are still alive.

It's time for us to go hand in hand and spread some love and kindness all around the world. You can always drop a kind contribution (it does not always has to be money, it can be in the form of support, skills or kind encouraging words as long as it brings a certain kind of comfort for the people in need) at http://www.tzuchi.org/global/ or any other voluntary foundation you believe in.

LETS LOVE AND BE LOVE!

Today I read the most beautifully written post it made me cry. It was written by MoofMoof. It's his first post in his first blog. It definitely isn't a bias opinion. It was written so sincerely it truly reflects his reflections. I'm so touched, I'm utterly speechless...

Tuesday, June 24, 2008

The little baby girl, dressed in a white sleeveless top, a white little shorts, flashing her bright innocent smile and her tiny little hands reaching out excitedly, sitting in between her proud parents. She's their little angel sent from heaven. She's their pride, their first-born, their hope, who shall realize the dream they never had a chance to make come true. They took care of her with much love and commitment, giving her the best they could provide. Buying her the most expensive dresses they can afford even if it meant no new clothes for them. Always providing her with the best quality healthy food they can find even when it comes to junkies. No chick-a-dees for her, it's bad for her. She must have good quality junkies. She is their precious little girl after all. She loves to snuggle close to her mommy and daddy especially daddy and make them play with her. She loves to sleep between them in the middle of the night. That way she feels safe and away from the scary monsters that in reality only lurks around in nightmare.

But the girl was not strong enough. She's always sick, always down with high fever and stomach flu. That makes mommy and daddy worry all the time. Every time they see their little baby girl lying frailly on her bed, it pains them so much tears well up in their eyes. When the girl was crying with pain, they wish they could take the pain onto themselves and make hers go away. They take turn to stay up at night to make sure little baby girl is fine and gets her medicine on time and pray for her to get better soon. Mommy and daddy always check on her and tug her in her blankie so she doesn't get a cold.

They love her so much they bring her along wherever they go. Although they were not well-off, they try to save up as much as they could of their meager income just so they can bring her out of country on a vacation. Furthest they've gone is to Bangkok. It was a bumpy 12 hours long train ride. Daddy had to sleep on the upper bunk where his head was found bruised the next morning from the endless bumping on the train wall. Nevertheless it was a very happy and memorable trip for the 3 of them.

From all the love and care they gave her, she grows really fast, day after day, years after years. Soon she's grown into a strong active teenage girl. Now she pains them more. Not because she's ill again but because she has transform into a little monster from her little angel form. Now she thinks their love is a prison, their words an awful song, their advices full of bullshits and their everything are just painstakingly annoying. She resent everything they say or do. She goes against everything that they say or warn. She secretly skip school, secretly goes to party and she secretly dates a guy and secretly bring him to her house when they are not around. Secretly had her first kiss with her first boyfriend and secretly break it off without them knowing he ever existed. She threatened them by running away from home. Cause so much pain that her father cried out loud for the first time in fear of losing her daughter forever. That was the first time she made him cried so hard.

Then a few years later, despite all her spitefulness and playfulness she manage to graduate from high school and was accepted into the national University which had her parents brimming with pride every time they tell someone about it. But those grad school years was not smooth sailing. She left a good boy for some jackass whom she thought was an angel at the time. This time around she caused her mommy and daddy to cry real hard for the second time because her stupid decisions nearly caused her life following the worse breakup ever in her life. She refused to eat, to go out, she just stays at home and do nothing all the time. Whenever they look into her eyes, the lights grew dimmer and dimmer. She no longer cry, she no longer speak, she just sits and stare. The sight of her sitting lifelessly staring into blank space brought a tremendous pain and sadness in their heart. They drop everything at hand, rushed over to hug her, to tell her that everything is going to be alright, that no matter what happen they will always be the one who will support her and love her and care for her. Even when everyone has left her, they will not, for her, they will always be around. That little gesture finally brought tears into her eyes again. They were gushing out freely. A sense of warmth and hope embraced her and once again she can feel safe cause no matter what, she knows her family will always be there to back her up. With their support, she managed to go back to school and graduate remarkably.

Now the girl is a grown woman. She has a lot to thank her wonderful parents for. For giving her a wonderful life, for teaching her life lessons she'll never get to learn elsewhere, for teaching her to love, to respect and to care for people all around. Most of all she wants to thank her mommy and daddy for loving her all her life and for not giving up on her when she was clearly a pain in the ass. It is now time for her to move on into a new chapter of her life, to leave home, to travel thousands of miles away to be with her one true love, to start her own family and to someday pass down to her children what her great parents had taught her. Here she sits with tears brimming in her eyes looking into the picture of the little baby girl with her white sleeveless top and white shorts sitting in between her mommy and daddy who were smiling proudly into the camera. She will truly miss them, miss all those wonderful years that they had together. She will miss talking to them, miss them nagging her all the time, miss arguing with them and most of all she simply miss spending time with them. What more can she ask, they were the most wonderful gift that is bestow on her.

"Daddy, mommy, thanks for everything you've given me. Sorry for all the pain I've caused you time after time and thank you for forgiving me each and every time. I love you very much and I will always miss you both."

-| Parcel Of Love |-

15th of May 2008 was a memorable date. It's the 1st Anniversary for MoofMoof and I. However we didn't officially became an item on that day. We chose to celebrate on that day because :-

1. Neither of us can recall when was the very day we finally hooked up (don't ask me why, it's a long long story)
2. It's mom's birthday so it's easier on our scatty brain.

Although he's halfway around the world, that didn't stop us from celebrating the day two souls united in love bonded in destiny.

That very morning, MoofMoof blew my heart and took my breath away. Just when I thought things can't get any sweeter or any more romantic than that, he would just whoop something right up to sweep me off the ground again. Yea, he sent me a parcel of love. Right then I know I'm the luckiest girl to have found the sweetest guy <3.

(The most wonderful parcel I've ever received)

(Isn't this adorable? A handmade necklace and bracelet and 2 of his most loved cutie keychains which he bought from Vietnam. Piggy keychain-->Me and Doggy keychain-->MoofMoof. Oh by the way he has the same exact bracelet except that it reads "I (LOVE) SAMANTHA" and he wears it everyday. *Melts my heart away*)

(A box full of handmade stars)

(I've received lots of handmade stars in the past but none like these ~ stars with hand-drawn pictures, they are uber cute. He sent 3 superheroes to protect me ~ Superman, Spiderman and Batman, can you spot them? Orh girls {you know who you are when it comes to Foster} if you're reading this can you spot a Foster star he sent, specially for all of us? *squeals excitedly*. Did any of you notice the piece of doodoo? I notice lotsa guys love to draw doodoo. Wonder why? Anyone?)

(The words say it all. Makes me cry when I read them. *rolls eyes*. Well don't look at me like that, I can't help it. I tend to have a soft spot for touchy stuffs like that. *rolls eyes again*)

(He was debating whether to give me lotsa kisses or just one kiss. There, he decided to give me a huge ass kiss!)

(MoofMoof's most fav moomoo or so he says. MoofMoof won it from the fair. He's a freaky froggy-like moomoo ~ "Hun, don't debate it cause you know it's freaky, even Ryan says so". But I still think it's super duper cute, just like you, freaky but super duper adorable *Runs for life before I get tickled to death*)

(And last but not least, how can a card not accompany so many loveable goodies. Not 1 but 2 CARDS! And they are handmade too! *Awwwww melts habis-habisan* , translation - fully melted, I think...hmm... *scratching head*)

See, how can I not say I'm the luckiest girl when a guy does so many many uber sweet confections? We spent the rest of the day babbling away ~ <

Weekend was one hell of a roller coaster ride. So many things had happen with so much emotion involved. Happy, sad, nervous, fear, worries, you name it I have it. Except for anger I guess.

May 10th 2008, woke up from my nap and as usual the first thing I do when I got up is to switch on my lappy. Login to Facebook and my email, saw nothing on Facebook but something in my mailbox caught my attention. It read “CRIS” which means it’s something from USCIS. Getting all jiggly and nervous I clicked open the email with my trembling hand and there it was sitting on my mailbox reading "On May 9, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)". I can’t believe what I saw. I had to rub my eyes twice and pinched myself a couple of times before I go ~ “Wuhoo! It’s real, it’s real! It is so so real! It’s finally happening!!!!!!!!!!”. Gotta tell Denny immediately, dialed his number so many times but that baka hubby of mine didn’t pick up his phone, so I had to call the house number. My sleepy Mama picked it up. Felt so sorry for waking her up but I had to get the happy news to Denny. It was the best news of the day. We talked happily about all the exciting things we’re gonna do when I’m there but then as sudden as the happy news came, I broke into tears. Overwhelmed by the sudden gush of sadness for having to leave my family behind I just couldn’t stop crying. It was a good thing that Denny was around assuring me that everything is going to be fine and we will come home to Penang often to visit my family and friends. Denny, thank you for your assuring words, for you love and care.

The following day, I was worried sick. Mom was admitted to the hospital with the docs not knowing what was wrong. They perform and ultrasound scan on mom and said it might be an inflation on her fallopian tube or a cyst or an inflation on her intestine but they couldn’t be sure until they perform a surgery on mom. I had to seek few doctors’ opinions and do so much research in a day to help my mom and dad decide which was the best option for her. I was able to convinced dad to ask the doctor to perform a laparoscopy on mom to inspect the affected area for the real culprit and removing the affected area using the same method and told the doctor to only opt for a more extensive surgery if the problem area is too complicated for laparoscopy. Mom went through the laparoscopy procedure late afternoon yesterday. What they found was a heavy cyst twisting the end of the right fallopian tube. The twisted fallopian tube was the culprit of the massive pain. They removed the cyst and the bad end of the fallopian tube and now mommy is better and recovering. Thank goodness!

There’s a little habit of my mom that I found rather bizarre. Below is a conversation between me and my mom that clearly demonstrates the bizarreness of her habit:-

Me : Hello
Mom : Hey dad and I are on our way back home. Do you need me to grab some food for you and Matthew?
Me : No, thanks mom. We are too full from gobbling down McFatty so yea we don’t need any more food.
Mom : Are you sure? You really don’t want anything?
Me : Yes, I’m sure mom. Absolutely and positively sure.
Mom : Okay then, I won’t buy anything. Bye
Me : Bye

Half an hour later…Front door opened. Mom came in happily chirping:

Mom : Hey guys, I bought you some fried chicken!
Me : I thought I told you we don’t need anything.

She just smiled and walked away. Seriously that wasn’t the first time. Not the second nor the third but she freaking does that ALL THE TIME (yes pardon me but I just can’t help emphasizing that). Why the hell should she bother calling and ask when she’s gonna buy them anyway. I truly couldn’t relate to it. I thought my mom is the only one behaving that way but little did I know that moms of my friends carry the same disease too. I guess that’s just a piece of the unconditional motherly love that every mothers has ~ always caring, always giving and always loving. Though she crawls up my nerves at times but I greatly appreciate her for being there for me through thick and thin. I LOVE MI MOM

p/s: I wonder if I’m gonna carry the exact replicate of the disease when my time comes…*ponders*

It’s not that bizarre after all!

3 of my own experience showed me how caring our masyarakat is.

2005 – On my way to school, a truck ran into my car from the back because the dim-witted driver didn’t bother to pull up his handbrake on a downhill road when he stops for the red light causing my car bumper to droop down. Driver did not stop to apologize or to see if I needed help. What’s worse is none of the onlookers bother to stop either.

January 2008 – On my way to my uncle’s house, traffic light turn green…everyone is moving forward and so am I. A guy whom I doubt has a driving license at all charges his car towards mine when it’s red light for him! Boy ain’t I glad I was quick enough to response, I swerve my car away from his. But still his car manage to harass mine >.< . Anyway, I stop my car by the side of the road to check if everything is fine. Just as expected, driver didn’t stop to apologize and no one bothered to stop, only a friend of mine who happen to pass by, stop to ask if everything’s okay. February 2008 – Another traffic light incident. Did I mess with the traffic light in my past life? Anyway a huge ass truck forces its’ way into my lane and crashed my back bumper. No apology and no one stop either. Was smart enough to take down a picture of the truck with my phone ^^ and I was crazy enough to follow the truck to it’s destination to demand for an apology. Wouldn’t have done that if there weren’t others around. He was shocked that an elfin like me would dare approached him. Tried to blame me and make it seem like it was my fault but am no baby to be pushed around. His nervous eyes betrayed him and in the end his coworkers agreed that he should apologize and compensate the damage. Doesn’t cost that much to fix my car and thus I decided not to ask for it. Called him the next day to tell him that he doesn’t have to pay for the damage and here’s how the conversation went: Me: “pak cik tak yah bayar balik wang repair tu la, sebab tak byk. Saye pun tau cari makan bknnya senang kan, tapi lain kali kalau pak cik terlanggar orang, salah ke tak salah, kene la turun dan tgk kalau kalau org tu perlukan bantuan”

Pak cik: “minta maaf la yer…pak cik tak tahu terlanggar kelmarin. Tapi terime kasih byk byk yer”

He kept repeating “terime kasih byk byk” 3 to 4 times. At least he’s sorry and I am just glad things end well.

Are we living out the saying “Kita Masyarakat Penyayang” or is it just a phrase we carry at the tip of our lips and not our actions? SAY it like you MEAN it…
