-| I Love Gadgets! |-

I can't remember when and how it started but I have a deep running love for gadgets. I love looking and admiring them, I love to study them, I love to toy with them and most of all I love to own them all.

Recently MoofMoof bought me 3 gadgets and I'm very much delighted. Though most people are hyped up about the Iphone, I am not particularly attracted to it. Instead, I chose the Sony Ericsson W980i as I don't really need most of the features on the Iphone and I'm not very fond of the touch screen when it comes to texting people. No offence to the pro-Iphone people out there, it's great an all but I'm just not that into it.

(Sony Ericsson W980i 8gb walkman phone which I named Bakuli 1.0)
(Bakuli 1.0 lives in a baby bootie which is named the MooMooSack)

Second gadget that I got is the m*dded Sony FAT PSP 1001. It's a used PSP but still an awesome buy as m*dded FAT PSP 1001 is hard to come by these days. My current top 3 games would be Patapon 2, and the newly launched Pangya and Audition (both are online PC games made portable).

(the very addictive PSP which I can play day and night if given the luxury)

The last gadget would be my Brothers CS-6000i sewing machine that I love, love, love! More about the CS-6000i would be featured here.

One of the reasons that I've not been updating my blog is my 3 gadgets. I was too busy toying with them. The other reason is that I've been thinking about what to write on this particular post as it's my 100th post. But then again I decided not to do anything special about it since it's just numbers and there'll be the 200th, 300th and more hundreds post to come if I don't stop blogging. So happy blogging and happy blog hopping :D

p/s: To Tough Girl 101 (one of my favourite blogger) : I finally have a weird looking angry cat design that I'm happy about. Will put it into production first thing tomorrow morning. Picture of the finished cat will be posted here and also on my critters blog once it's done. Stay tuned :p

We were up in Vancouver for a one day trip and the highlight of the day has got to be La Casa Gelato. It is the only gelato factory/store in the world that carries 218 flavours on location from the 500+ flavours that they have. 218 flavours! That's an amazingly diverse amount of flavours. It is so diverse that we had a hard time picking out just 1 flavour. They range from standard gelato flavours  to very exotic ones like chocolate curry, balsamic vinegar, wasabi and gorgonzola blue cheese (I tried all the above) just to name a few.

The place was practically swamped with customers and normally I would’ve leave as fast as I can (I dislike overly crowded places) but that didn’t stop me from staying longer. The interesting combinations of gelato flavours were so tempting that I had to walk from one end to another to carefully taste and pick my flavour.

La Casa Gelato has got to be the best gelato I've tasted thus far. So good that they receive a vast amount of media coverage for example the Chinese Network, Vancouver Sun and Ripley's Believe It Or Not! Even the queen of lifestyle, Martha Stewart herself has been there to get a taste of La Casa’s Gelato.

If any of you ever hit up Vancouver, don’t forget to pay La Casa Gelato a visit. It’s highly recommended and a definite must go.

p/s: I doubt that I’ll ever get much of durian in Seattle, so we ended up picking the durian flavoured gelato. It even had tiny bits of durian flesh in it. I also bought an almond nougat bar, my all time favourite snack. yum yum...

I love popcorns and usually, I can't watch a movie without popcorns. Shopping at Fred Meyer today, seeing rows and rows of self-popping popcorns reminded me of my first popcorn in Seattle.

I would never ever forget about that popcorn incident. It was the first salty popcorn I ever tasted in my life. I bought the popcorn at the movie theatre thinking it's the same irresistible sweet popcorns that I’ve always had in Malaysia and popped it in my mouth. Immediately I turned to MoofMoof with a disgusted look on my face. Here’s how the conversation went:

Me: Honey, I think there’s something seriously wrong with the popcorn.

MoofMoof: What’s the matter?

Me: I think they forgot to put in the caramel. I can only taste the butter.

MoofMoof: *starts laughing and laughing* Honey, that’s how they are suppose to taste like. They are butter popcorns not caramel.

Me: Huh? (getting more puzzled) You guys have butter popcorns? People actually eat salty popcorns??????

MoofMoof: Of course we do! *lalalalalala and a whole bunch of explanation*

I’ll just stop the conversation right there. There’s a long stretch of popcorns debate to it but I won’t bore you further. Since then, I’ve been constantly searching for caramel popcorns where ever I go. So far I’ve only found 2 places that sells caramel popcorns, one in Puyallup Fair and the other one in one of Portland’s (Oregon) mall. The hunt shall go on and I shall not give up!

Now all my critters have a permanent home in the blogosphere. They no longer have to crash here. So for those of you who are interested to follow my 'softies making' life do swing by http://amicutecritters.blogspot.com/

Happy Blogging and Happy BlogHopping!

Spring is still a couple of weeks away and I'm already bright and chirpy. I'm shedding all my winter wear and replacing them with bright, colourful, flowy dresses, skirts, shorts, tops and open toes footwear. Adding to the excitement, I'm starting my own little garden patch too, growing white (Snow Star)  and red (Hollandia) tulips. Oh I can't wait for them to bloom and bloom!

It's dry, it looks like a bristle and I'm just tired of managing it so CHOP CHOP CHOP it goes!

Some say it looks like mushroom, some say helmet, another says it's dog bite and others are loving it. No matter what people say, I'm loving it simply because, I only need 10 minutes to style my hair now instead of an hour. AHhhhhh....my head feels so much lighter :D

I was diagnosed with a right ovarian cyst last year during my first ultrasound+pap smear+mammogram checkup.  The cyst is a functional cyst (collection of fluid surrounded by a thin wall) and not cancerous.

Any ovarian follicle that is larger than 2 centimeters is termed as ovarian cyst. Functional cysts or simple cyst are part of the normal process of menstruation and harmless. It is not a disease and can be treated. My doctor told me not to worry as cysts usually goes away after a few period cycles. However I’m advised to arrange for regular checkups to make sure it does go away.

A month after my arrival in Seattle, I was hit by a sudden abdominal pain. The pain was horrifying, unbearable, knee weakening and piercing through each and every bone. I couldn’t even walk and was rushed into ER and they sedate me with pain medication. I was put through a bunch of blood tests and ultrasounds which was horrible because it was so cold and I was dizzy from the sedation. They found blood traces in my ovarian cyst from the ultrasound and suspected that it might be the cause of the pain but they advised me to make a follow up appointment with a gynecologist who can tackle my situation more accurately.

Since then I’ve been visiting my gynecologist regularly every 2 months and everything has been looking good until last month. Apart from the existing one has grown in size, they found a new cyst growing on my left ovary and both are filled with fluid and blood. As the cysts have potential to bleed into themselves or twist the ovary, I’m now put on birth control pills treatment. Birth control pill helps to shrink and eradicate existing cysts and prevents the formation of new cysts. I’m scheduled for another check up four months later to see the result of the treatment and thus I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
