-| Taking a Break |-

I'll be taking a 2 weeks break from my blog starting from tomorrow. This time-off is much needed as I have to straighten out some personal and business issues but I'll definitely be back once everything is A-Oke. It ain't anything serious or heart wrenching so don't worry. My life is good and I'm happy but I just need some time to clear my mind and get back on track with things I've let loose for quite some time.

Set those aside, I'll be taking a road trip down to Oregon to visit my ChinkBro for Chinese New Year. Haven't been on a trip in a long time so I'm really really hyped. Gotta finish all the task on my list before I can go anywhere. Happy Chinese New Year everyone! Peace!

Don't ask me why but I love to hoard my old socks even the ones that are ugly, super lose and has already discoloured. It's so habitual that I had to bring them with me when I moved from Malaysia to Seattle. Yes, you can call me siao.

They use to sit comfortably in my drawers until yesterday... I went on a sudden rampage; I pull each and every one of them out and hack them into pieces! Can you believe that? My beloved old socks that I guard with life for the past 10 YEARS!

Nah, just kidding! I didn't hack them into pieces but I did cut them up and stitch them back into something else. I cut up a pair of my old socks and a pair of my new socks and

TADA!

(The big one is named DugaDuga and the small one is named GupGup)

(DugaDuga is made from my old socks)

(GupGup is made from 1 side of my new socks)

Isn't this great? I can still hoard my old socks but they no longer have to sit in my drawer looking ugly and lifeless. I give them new faces, new names and a new purpose in life. This is what I call recycling the fun way. Go Green!

I never made new year resolutions before because I know by the end of the year, when it's time to reflect on them, nothing would've changed. I'm the kind of person who likes to procastinate things and do it at the very last minute or not do it at all. That being said, I'm not the type who doesn't plan for the future. In fact, I have a long list of things I want for the future; I wanna buy a house, I wanna start my own business, I want a fulfilling life, I wanna travel the world and so on and so forth.

Thus to make things easier for myself, I break them down into smaller goals which I call "My Weekly Goals". I make simple, achievable goals every week that will eventually lead me to my final goals. By the end of the week I'd review my goals and see if I've achieved all of them. If I don't, I'd make sure to try harder the following week. This way I don't feel so much like a sore loser for not being able to achieve anything at all. Besides, it helps me reassess my long term goal from time to time to see if they are still significant.

This week nontheless I've made a list of things that I want to achieve by the end of the week.
1. I want to make at least 4 ugly pals (those ugly softies I've been making these days)
2. I want to help Roccio (my 3 year old silky) overcome his separation anxiety
3. No eating out except for Friday, Saturday & Sunday
4. Start living healthy by sleeping early and waking early
5. Spend more quality time with MoofMoof
6. Call my family back home at least once
7. Get to know my new friends better

Finally, I aimed to achieve at least 5 out of the 7 goals that I set.

-| Blue BunnyPork |-

Update: Due to a friend's suggestion I now officially change his name to Blue BunnyPork. Name credited to Mr. Ashi.

My second attempt at making a felt softie. This bunny isn't fully my own design. I reinvented a bunny that I saw in a book by fusing in my own essence; weird, ugly but adorable. Hence the piggy nose and the googly eyes.

It looks pretty simple and fairly easy to make but it turned out to be harder than I thought. However, I'm not gonna give up and I plan to make more especially those that are more challenging. So wish me luck people! ^^

Bunny Hop Hop Hop & Away ~

p/s: This is actually the fourth one but it's my second more challenging softie. The one I made before Blue Bunny is Chickdoo ~

-| SWIG? |-

A new word that I learned from MoofMoof today - Swig = Super Twig. I'm always mesmerized by his ability to mix, match and mesh words into one funky word.

Apparently he says that I should eat more so I don't become a swig or a twig. But he's probably blinded by love because for all I know I've not lost any weight but gained since I got here.

I don't know how anyone can turn into a swig when they don't serve "skinny" food here. They have fat and greasy written all over the menu. I'm not saying I hate them though. In fact I LOVEeeeeeeeeee THEM. Those juicy steak strategically placed in between the bread, topped with fresh lettuce, onion, tomato and cheese with lots of finger-licking-good fries at the side - I mean c'mon, how can anyone resist them?

Plus I always have 2 big tubs of Dreyer's ice cream (Peanut Butter Cup & Nestle Drumstick Sundae Cone - both my favourite) sitting in the refrigerator waiting to be gobbled down by obviously ME us.

"So honey, I don't think you'll ever have to worry about me becoming a SWIG."

I think he has to worry more about me becoming a PIG (not that I'm not already) than a SWIG . muahahahaha

-| My Next Venture |-

Ahhhhh I can't wait to get started!

This Sunday would be my first sewing class! Yay! My instructor is a local designer in Seattle and I heard she has won several awards and one of her dresses is featured in Seattle Metropolitan. Impressive huh? You might find it funny though cause I'm having her teach me how to make felt softies instead of dresses. Yes, I'm weird and I fancy bizzare objects like ugly but adorable felt softies. What's weirder is I'm having MoofMoof join the class. He's such a loving husband ain't he?

It would be a two hour session at her place. During the two hour session, we'll find out where we sit (beginner, intermediate or advanced) but I'm sure I'll be the noob. I'm told to prepare some sewing tools for the day. For eg: sewing machine (I don't have this but she say I can borrow hers till I get mine), thread, muslin, fabric scissors and other tools that I have. She's such a nice lady because she even gave us a very sweet deal.

I'm so looking forward to this Sunday!

YOU CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED TO ME ON NEW YEAR'S EVE! A FREAKING LAUNDRY MISHAP !!!! After putting my washed clothes into the dryer, I left the laundromat to go home for a bite only to come back 30 minutes too late. It's only 3.30pm and I'm 30 minutes late. Place closed for New Year's Eve. Back in Malaysia, I've never seen places close early for New Year's Eve. That's a first for me....sigh...

And so it happens, my closet dysfunction which is just as bad as an erectile dysfunction(not like I'll ever have one :p).  Raked all my clothes out of the closet and they are either too OL or too summer-ry for where I'm going. I did manage to piece some stuff up together for the night. Not great but it's better than PJs. That sounds kinda bad huh? Nah, it's actually not too bad. I ended up looking pretty decent.

Then we head to a billiard bar, drank a bunch of different cocktails and shots. Played some billiard, watch the fireworks, toasted, played more billiards and came home for a pack of indo mee goreng before I hit the sack.

Happy Jolly 2009 everyone!

p/s: pictures will be uploaded at a later time as I don't have them with me...
